Explore the iconic Fushimi Inari-taisha, famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates. We will hike partway up Mount Inari for views of the city.

Tip: Arrive early to avoid the heaviest crowds and get clean photos at the lower gates.

12:00 PM · Lunch at Fushimi Inari Area

Enjoy lunch near the shrine featuring local specialties like Inari sushi (tofu pockets) and Kitsune udon.

02:30 PM · Sanjusangendo Temple

Visit the massive Sanjusangendo Temple, famous for its 1,001 life-sized statues of Kannon, the goddess of mercy. Information is available in English. No photography allowed inside the main hall.

Tip: Wear easy-to-remove shoes as you must leave them at the entrance.

06:30 PM · Gion Evening Stroll & Dinner

End the day with a stroll through the Gion district. Look for geiko and maiko heading to their appointments in the early evening. Enjoy a refined Kaiseki meal or high-quality Yakitori.

Tip: Be respectful: do not block streets or touch maiko/geiko. Reservations for dinner are highly recommended.
